FED Workshop – Talk & Taste: Colorado Wine

March 23 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

TBD

While our state is known for beer & cider, Colorado wines are too often an afterthought. Much to our delight, there are some beautiful, innovative wines, being crafted in the Grand Valley, that we are thrilled to share with you. Come enjoy an afternoon of tasting from wineries selected by Advanced Sommelier Logan Silbert. This is your opportunity to meet with these Colorado wineries and taste while finding out what makes their techniques unique in the often harsh growing conditions in our state.

During the Grand Tasting, five different Colorado wineries will be pouring at Birch Road in the Highlands, saving you a trip across the mountains to discover the up and coming deliciousness from the Colorado wine industry. Alongside the wines, Slow Food Denver is gathering some of our favorite local foods to nibble & enjoy while you sip.

If you are still a bit skeptical, join the VIP experience with Advanced Sommelier Logan Silbert for a blind tasting. He will pair Colorado wines next to the same varietals that have more fame around the world. This is your opportunity to try an Argentine Malbec or a French Chardonnay next to a Colorado Malbec and Chardonnay without the labels to distract and potentially bias your sip.

The VIP experience will be a 90 minute immersion into this blind comparison tasting with bites to enjoy throughout. After the tasting class with Logan, enjoy intimate early access to the Grand Tasting a half hour before the general admission arrives. You are welcome to linger until 5pm continuing to enjoy the wines with the rest of our guests.

About Our Instructor: Logan Silbert came of age in the world of wine believing that wine, let alone great wine, could not be grown in Colorado. With research, experience and his growing passion for wine, he realized that great wine could be grown in Colorado and in other under-appreciated regions of the world. This sparked his lifelong journey of wine education and exploration. He came to understand that wine is simply liquid geography, geology, climate, history, culture, art and cuisine. Logan became a Master Sommelier Candidate and one of less than a thousand Advanced Sommeliers in the world.

Logan has worked in wineries in Colorado to California and Oregon and has been the Wine Director of Michelin Starred restaurants from Napa to Denver and Boulder. His goal is to eliminate the intimidation in wine and share the feeling one gets when you step into a vineyard or taste the perfect pairing and truly understand the wine from inside out.

For more information about Logan, see Few and Far Wines.

The Location: Our Colorado wineries are coming together in the Highlands neighborhood of Denver. Gathering in the lounge of a warm space you will get to mingle, taste, and talk your way through some of the best Colorado wines being produced today. Exact location will be sent once your ticket is purchased.
