Slow Food Denver Brings you our newest program, the Food Ethos Denver Workshops! This series of monthly adult education classes will bring everything from panel discussions to conscious consumer courses to how-to workshops to the denver public. We invite you to join us in cooking, foraging, fermenting, learning, and growing with us as we work towards a more educated tomorrow!
So, what is FED? Great question! As detailed above, the FED Workshops will bring monthly adult education programming to the Denver public with a focus on food and beverage. Our overarching goal is to cultivate conscious consumers and active participants in the local food system. We will invite you to learn with us in the form of how-to classes, panel discussions, seminars, and more. We will guide you on the path to become educated consumers of local products, as well as those less local. And hopefully, we will empower you to produce things yourself.
In the first few months we will take attendees to local markets, farms, retailers, and parks to learn about foraging, fermenting, cooking while camping, cooking with cultural foods, and so much more. We are collaborating with other non-profits and local businesses to make this program a true community effort that supports more than just the work of Slow Food Denver.
Our hope is to eventually make this program entirely pay what you can, but we are still looking for funding to make this a reality. Currently, we will offer a handfull of free or pay what you can spots at every workshop we can. This will not always be possible, but we will stive to make these workshops as accessible as possible.
