Ekar Crop Mob

June 11, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Final crop mob of the Spring 2017 season:

Sunday, June 11 at Ekar Farm!!

Ekar Farm is located on the grounds of the Denver Academy of Torah. This 2 acre farm produces an incredible volume of fresh produce every year (typically, well over 10,000 pounds!) for local hunger programs.

This time, we’ll be doing something a little different from the normal routine: we’ll be rebuilding and replanting Ekar’s herb spiral (a permaculture technique) as well as beautifying the area around the spiral, which is the entrance area for the community gardens section of the farm, the management of which Ekar has taken over this year.

This will be a light-to-medium duty day, as we’ll be moving some rock and mulch around, so bring work gloves, sun protection and water (there is potable water on site). No dogs, please!

Kids 5 and older are VERY welcome, especially as we’ll be using an old school home made ice cream maker and kids love turning the crank!

As usual, we’ll plan to work for 4 hours and then have a hot sit down lunch, provided by our hosts. Hope you can join us! If so, please register at link below, so we’ll know how many to plan for:
