Maya Brook

I have a background in journalism, public relations, and non-profit fundraising. I received a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Colorado at Boulder. After graduating I spent time in Australia, New York, and California, before moving back to my native Colorado. I have worked for media outlets including the Associated Press, for marketing and public relations agencies, and for non-profit organizations that have served children from Colorado to Uganda, the Philippines and El Salvador.

I’m passionate about access to affordable, fresh, healthy, and local food that is fair for all. As a mom of three young boys, I feel that sustainable farming will help ensure my children’s and all children’s future, and that playing in the dirt and eating from the land should be a way of life. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband, kids, and dog, Snape.
