Meet The Team
I’ve always loved how food can create emotional connections between people and places. How flavors and smells of certain dishes can bring back memories from the past. Not to mention the stories. Food always comes with a variety of stories that can be shared at the table while building your tribe. This is the kind of food I love. Food with heart and soul that has been grown, prepared, and served with love.
Throughout my career I have gravitated toward working with food. From fancy restaurants, to natural and organic grocery retail, and then to the organic ingredients themselves. I learned early on that not all food comes from the heart. This kind of soulless food does not nourish the mind, body, and soul, or the community it serves. I’ve never been one to ignore problems, instead I’d rather work to make a difference… join a movement! A movement dedicated to celebrating food that is good, clean, and fair for all.
I began volunteering for Slow Food Denver in 2016 at the Denver Botanic Garden Education Series. Shortly thereafter I became involved with the Board of Directors and Slow Food Nations. I also served as the Colorado State Governor for Slow Food USA from 2018 – 2020. During which time I attended Terra Madre Salone del Gusto, in Turin, Italy, as a USA Delegate. A true highlight in my time with this organization.
As a current member of the board, and co-chair of the marketing committee, I feel very fortunate to be a part of this community of like-minded individuals, who are leading the charge in making a difference in people’s lives through food education, connections to local producers, and an overall vision to create a more just and sustainable food system.
