Meet The Team

Krista Roberts

In 2007, I returned to Denver after living in England and started down a new path to make food a bigger part of my life. I completed Cook Street’s professional culinary program, worked in the kitchen at Duo Restaurant and taught recreational cooking classes. At the same time, I got involved with Slow Food Denver, volunteering for the leadership team and spending a lot of time teaching classes as part of our school garden program. I knew immediately that this organization was important to me!

A few years later, I became the director of the Slow Food Denver chapter. I embraced Slow Food’s approach to inspire change through joy and was committed to building upon what the chapter’s founders had started. Hosting the Slow Meat conference in 2014 and 2015 led the way for Denver to become the host city for Slow Food Nations in 2017, Slow Food’s showcase festival in the US. I was honored to take the role as the festival executive director and steward this ambitious and unique celebration for three years for Slow Food USA.

I am now thrilled to continue to support Slow Food Denver as a board member, and am proud to advocate for our vibrant local food community. When I am not doing that, you’ll likely find me cooking for family and friends, shopping at the farmers market or hiking in the mountains.
