Partner Highlight: Grow Local Colorado's Gleaning Efforts

In preperation for the Citywide Gleaning event that Grow Local Colorado will be hosting on September 28th, there will be many opportunites to partake in other gleaning opportunities with the organization. Slow Food Denver's Youth Education Director partook in a recent communtiy gleaning that built momentum for the citywide event, while capturing ripe fruits before they were wasted and providing them to food insecure communities. Grow Local Colorado is a close partner to SFD and we are thrilled to help with this incredible effort.

Partipating in this project will aid the continued effort to rescue fruits from overwhelmed fruit tree owners, while supporting local food insecurity organizations. Plus, it's fun! Sign-up for one of the neighborhood gleanings listed below, and/or take part in the citywide gleaning on the 28th.

The fun doesn't stop there! On September 29th, Grow Local is hosting Applepalooza with local partners. The afternoon will include cider making, poetry, music, ice cream from Little Man, and a potluck of seasonal food. Snag a spot here!
