As the chill of November wraps around us and the last of the golden leaves fall, we find ourselves reflecting on the abundance of this season. Gratitude fills the air, and at Slow Food Denver, it’s been a month of reflection, community, and preparation. We hosted an impactful FED Workshop, gathered with our board for our annual retreat, welcomed new members to our board, and started preparing to release our annual report.
This month, we gathered at Patagonia Denver for another sold-out FED Workshop. Six panelists joined Slow Food Denver in a panel discussion on the Intersection of Food and Culture. The conversation was meaningful and informative. Wisdom, experiences, and knowledge were shared freely, something we are incredibly grateful for. It was a reminder of how collaboration and passion can spark meaningful change.
As we transition into December and the holiday season, there’s much to look forward to. On December 5th, we’re excited to host our final FED Workshop of the year at Convivio Café. This event will bring hands-on learning to the topic of Guatemalan coffee in another Conscious Consumer workshop. Learn about coffee from this special country in the Guate-inspired café with us in this hour long class. Be sure to reserve your spot early!
A few days later, Colorado Gives Day will take place on December 10th. This is a day to show your support for the programs and initiatives that make Slow Food Denver a vital part of our community. Your generosity fuels the work we do year-round, from both adult and youth education programs to the Snail of Approval award program to events that strengthen the local food system.
We’re also thrilled to announce the launch of the Snail Society this November, our new membership program is for donors who believe in good, clean, and fair food for all. Members of the Snail Society will enjoy exclusive benefits, special event invitations, and the chance to cultivate a sustainable, inclusive future together.
The holidays are a time of giving, gathering, and gratitude. As you prepare your feasts and celebrate with loved ones, we encourage you to incorporate local and seasonal ingredients that honor the hard work of farmers and producers. These small choices can create ripple effects in our food system.
From all of us at Slow Food Denver, thank you for being part of our vibrant community. We wish you a joyful start to the holiday season and hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
