Meet The Team

KYLE CONRAD

In 2013, I returned to the Front Range from Durango, Colorado. During my time in Durango, I served as an AmeriCorps member for Turtle Lake Refuge, where I had the privilege of preparing Raw and Vegan Meals while also foraging for local food and fostering sustainability in the southwest region. Inspired by this experience, I established two community gardens, which ignited a profound passion in my life for gardening and cooking sustainable foods. This journey deepened my understanding of how our sense of taste is influenced by our environment and the many diverse approaches to cooking and preparing meals.

Over the past two decades, I’ve been fortunate to educate students ranging from first grade to high school. Currently, I teach at both the Denver Waldorf school and Sociology classes for CU-Denver to diverse high school students across the Denver-Metro region. Recognizing the importance of holistic education, I prioritize creating hands-on, supportive learning environments. Witnessing students’ empowerment in meal preparation and their curiosity about various foods brings me immense joy.

During weekends, you can find me hanging out with my husband and son, whether it’s hiking, tending to my garden, indulging in a good read, or enjoying home-cooked meals with friends and family.
