Smart Greenhouses: A Guide to Year-Round Rocky Mountain Growing

November 19, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

briliant-design-layout-greenhouse-300x225Smart greenhouses offers an exciting and colorful presentation portraying a completely new way of thinking about year round greenhouse growing in the Rocky Mountain West. Without the use of fossil fuel, these greenhouses heat, cool and ventilate themselves for four glorious seasons of green. Starting with their first $150 recycled prototype to large, gorgeous, state-of-the-art greenhouses, to a student project at 11,000 ft., the Parmenters take you on a journey around Colorado to see what their clients and students are growing 365 days a year.
Since 1992, Penn and Cord have been growing food at 8,120 ft in the Wet Mountains of south-central Colorado. After facing the challenges of the wild west for over 20 years, they are now high-altitude food growing teachers and sustainable greenhouse designers.
