Seasons of Cherry Creek
As we step into our fourth year of Preserve the Harvest, we think it’s going to be the most fun preserving season yet. Not only do we have a stellar season for fruits and veggies, but we’ve created all new opportunities to eat local, support local food systems, and preserve the season’s bounty for the winter ahead.
Sunday, September 14th 9am-1pm
Join us at the Seasons of Cherry Creek demo kitchen as Gigia Kolouch, of Slow Food Denver, teaches best-in-practice preserving techniques using fresh vegetables donated by Ekar Farm. This is a hands-on class in which we will make 2-3 preserved items. Everyone will have the opportunity to take home a jar of each item while additional preserved items will be donated to the Kavod Senior Life food pantry. When our morning of preserving is complete, we will enjoy a delicious lunch together featuring local produce. *Please wear pants, closed-toed shoes, and a hat or hair tied up.
For this event, volunteers for Yard Harvest & Ekar, as well as Ekar community gardeners qualify for Slow Food Member pricing.
