Join Slow Food Denver for a tour of the 63rd Street Farm

Don’t miss the chance to get to know your local farmers and ranchers by joining Slow Food Denver’s 2014 Farm Tour Series!  For this final tour of the season, we will visit the 63rd Street Farm.  We will meet at the farm at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 13th and begin the day with a tour of the farm operations, followed by a lunch of wood-fired pizza using ingredients right from the farm.

We hope to see you on a lovely Saturday morning for an educational day and to enjoy the very best in local food.  Please arrange your own transportation to the farm (carpooling encouraged), and plan to arrive on time – we will not be able to hold the tour for late arrivals.

About 63rd Street Farm:

Nestled in Colorado’s historical Valmont Butte, 63rd St. Farm is located only a few minutes from downtown Boulder, but feels like it’s miles away. Amanda and Brian Scott founded the farm in 2007 and have transformed it into a thriving community, through sustainable agriculture, and a commitment to health, wellness, and lifelong learning.

A few things to consider:
  • In our efforts to reduce waste, Slow Food Denver asks that everyone bring their own ‘picnic kit’ to include plates, bowls, utensils, napkins and cups.  We will have back ups for those who forget or aren’t able to do this.
  • We will be walking through the fields so sturdy walking shoes are important!  Also remember to bring sunscreen/hat, insect repellent, a warm layer, a camera, water bottles and rain gear (just in case)
  • In the event of inclement weather, please check your email Friday evening. We will send a note if we need to postpone the trip.
