Join Slow Food Denver for a canning workshop with MM Local and Denver Yard Harvest! Register now.
Learn the work of a local canning enterprise as well as learning basic canning of fruits and pickles through this hands-on workshop.
Share the gleaned fruit from Denver Yard Harvest and gleaned produce from local farms, with Project Angelheart and the other participants. Everyone will take a selection of canned produce.
We will provide a lunch featuring local ingredients after the canning session.
The day will look something like this: 8:30-9am: Get to know MM Local and enjoy a tour of their facility 9am-noon: Hands-on canning and education 12-1:30pm: Lunch and discussion
Other stuff you need to know: Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes – we will be standing a lot! Also make sure you wear long pants and clothes that you are comfortable getting a bit messy – MM Local will provide aprons, but we’ll be handling a lot of delicious (and juicy) produce.
