Drum roll, please…Slow Food Denver is pleased to announce the nine finalists for this year’s C.A.F.E. microgrants. Each organization is working toward a more sustainable, accessible, and just food system, and we’ll be hearing from each of them at one of our upcoming Slow Food Denver C.A.F.E. dinners, where dinner guests get to vote on who gets the grants.
The list includes:
Atriplex.org
Boulder Food Rescue (adding a Denver location)
Denver Urban Truck Farm
Denver Yard Harvest
The Free Food Alliance
Hampden Academy Day Treatment Program
MycoSophia: Gourmet Mushroom Products
Rose Roots Community Garden
Sprout City Farms
We’ll have information about each organization up soon — check back for details.
We are grateful to Grow Local Colorado and Chipotle for participating on the grant review committee – these selections were not easy to make given how many interesting projects we received for consideration. We wish the best to all of the applicants.
Our first dinner on June 25 at Bittersweet will feature presentations from Denver Truck Farm, Denver Yard Harvest, and Rose Roots. See the events page for more details or to buy tickets. Our remaining finalists will make their presentations on either August 5 or October 3 — details to follow.
